VARIOUS The Joe Meek Story (Wonderful 1977 UK 24-track double LP compilation of legendary Joe Meek productions from 1960 to '66 for the likes of Mike Berry & The Outlaws, Tornados, Screaming Lord Sutch & Heinz, housed in a front laminated gatefold picture sleeve with extensive liner notes & photos of each leading artist. This is an ex-journalist copy. This sleeve is Excellent [small 1" hairline split in one of the top edges] & both vinyl discs are stunning near mint DPA3035/6)

JOE MEEK I Hear A New World Part 1 (There's rare and then there's RARE, this 1960 UK 7" EP on Meek's own short-lived Triumph label is said to be one of only 99 copies, making this something of a holy grail item amongst Meek aficionados, '60s collectors and sonic explorers alike. The four tracks are credited to the Blue Men [actually a skiffle group from Acton!] which, under Meek's guidance and production nous, explore his fascination with outer space, incorporating all manner of primitive sonic trickery, gurgling bubbles, surf-esque guitar, vari-speed vocal effects and more. The labels remain in Excellent condition with just a little spindle wear and no tears, writing and the original four-prong centre still intact. Housed in the original front-laminated picture sleeve, the sleeve shows just a little edge wear and very minor discolouration to the unlaminated reverse with all flipbacks intact and secure. The vinyl grades VG/VG+ with some paper scuffs and minor hairlines resulting in some very light crackles in the quiet sections but nothing excessive and no skips or jumps - a landmark release and the first we have ever seen and are unlikely to see again RGXST5000)

Tracklisting: A The Blue Men Magnetic Field A The Blue Men Around The Moon B The Blue Men Entry Of The Globbots B The Blue Men Valley Of The Saroos
JOE MEEK / VARIOUS ARTISTS Bad Penny Blues (2009 UK 55-track 2-CD set. Back in the 50s, before Meek successfully struck out on his own to establish himself as the UK's first wholly independent record producer, Joe Meek had served a remarkable'apprenticeship' during the course of which he engineered, co-produced and/or produced countless sessions for many of the UK's established record companies. Joe carved out a highly impressive reputation during this period, working on dozens ofhit records and in addition to his many and various Pop, Skiffle and R&R sessions, he also worked on copious Jazz, Folk, Blues, Calypso and even light orchestral recordings. Many RGM aficionados regard this as the most interesting phase of his oft-controversial career, and this unique compilation offers a comprehensive overview of those early years)
