Thompson was an American journalist & author, famous for his novel
'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'. He is credited as the creator of
Gonzo journalism, a style of reporting where reporters involve
themselves in the action to such a degree that they become the
central figures of their stories. He is also known for his promotion and
use of psychedelics and other mind-altering substances [and to a
lesser extent, alcohol and firearms], his anarchist views, and his
iconoclastic contempt for authority. This 5-disc set is the audio
companion piece to the Magnolia Pictures feature film. Directed by
Oscar-winner Alex Gibney and narrated by Johnny Depp, 'Gonzo: The
Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson' receives its theatrical
release in December 2009. Presented in a 6" x 12" lidded box
complete with an amazing 44-page booklet full of never-before-seen
