Incredible slice of twisted psych rock from the cult Japanese act - expect fuzz-driven guitar, bombastic drumswith primal scream vocal pyrotechnics, sounds not unlike the proto-hard rock of Hendrix, Cream and Blue Cheer with a dash of early '70s heavy rockers like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, yes that good! The vinyl on this copy is Excellent withvery little sign of play - Essential ain't the word!!!)

FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND Satori (1998 Japanese CD album issue of the 5-track 1971 second album, as featured in Julian Cope's Japrocksampler and the birth of Japanese heavy rock, fold-out picture sleeve insert with tracklisting insert. Namaste WPC6-8425)

Tracklisting: Can you pick up a better iconic band than Japanese Flower Travellin' Band? Have a look at Julian Cope Japrocksampler cover with the band bare naked wildly ridin' on their wheels. Is any description more appropriate? A sense of freedom has always enhanced their music, a heavy rock manifesto clearly informed by british stalwarts. Their second album Satori has been released on Atlantic Japan in 1971 and still is a masterpiece on its own. The band was made up of Joe Yamanaka (vocals) - possibly an eastern version of Rob Tyner MC5 - Hideki Ishima (guitars), Jun Kobayashi (bass) and George Wada (drums). By the end of 1970, they had relocated to Toronto, Canada and lived there until March of 1972. In April 1973, the band split up, but they reunited in January 2008 with all original members joined by Nobuhiko Tracklist: A1. Satori Part I 5:22 A2. Satori Part II 6:56 A3. Satori Part III 9:40 B1. Satori Part IV 10:53 B2. Satori Part V 6:56
