A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
| COSMIC EYE Dream Sequence (Incredibly rare 1972 UK
Stereo LP featuring a two part epic, with 'Factory Sample'
stickered label, picture sleeve. This astonishing album is
almost impossible to find and in over thirty five years of
trading this isthe only one that we have ever seen
SLRZ1030) See 'More Info' for details about condition ...
Tracklisting: Recorded at the legendary Landsdowne Studios in London, & led by Indian born guitarist Amancio D’Silva, Cosmic Eye was a highly innovative studio experiment in which ‘Jazz Meets World’.
Following in the footsteps of other pioneering Landsdowne jazz recordings such as Joe Harriott & John Mayer’s Indo Jazz sessions, Cosmic Eye is modal, but is also under-pinned with traditional Indian instrumentation and structure, resulting in a hypnotic, psychedelic jazz excursion, constructed as two conceptual pieces.
Condition:
The sleeve is of the pinched spine variety with silvered text and front design.
Not being laminated, it is prone to picking up a fair amount of wear and discolouration, particuklarly as the back is mostly white.
This copy has not done too badly at all. There is a little light sheflwear evident, but nothing to excess and the discolouration is fairly minor and restricted to certain areas that result from rack filing - i.e. mostly 'ringwear'.
The spine and all text are clearly readable.
The labels are the usual silver text red Regal Zonophone with a 'Factory sample' sticker on side two. There are no obvious spindle marks around the centre hole and no real sign of wear.
The vinyl is wonderful. Although obviously played, it has retained its sheen and has been very well cared for indeed with nothing but the lightest paper scuffs to show for its fifty years.
This rare album surfaces so infrequently that it's almost reached 'Unicorn' status of verging on the mythical. It's no longer a myth. Here it is.
