Condition : -
Housed in a handsome monochrome sleeve depcting Jimmy with the compulsory cigarette in shot, many of the covers for this record seemed to be stamped in red on the back for promotional purposes. The sample stamped areas on the back have been torn away on this copy for stock use, a primitive method before the days of printed promotional labels or stickers. With just a couple of number annotations on the back, the only other distractions are a few inevitable paper splits at the far reaching corners, one of which is tape reinforced. Both panels remain clean & the album notes are clearly legible. The artwork too has lost none of its impact.
The vinyl is a lovely clean example. This early label design is rarely seen our side of the pond & there are no blemishes that stand in its way. Under a bright light, there are a few very faint paper scuffs detectable & the odd scratch on one or two tracks but these create only minor hiccups such as the odd click here & there on rotation, as expected. The vinyl is graded a healthy VG. Ever so hard to find & a new one to us! | | JIMMY KNEPPER Primrose Path (1980 UK 6-track LP, also featuring
Bobby Wellins on Tenor, Pete Jacobsen on Piano, Dave Green on Bass
& Ron Parry on Drums, picture sleeve. The sleeve shows a little
creasing at the corners but otherwise only light shelfwear & the vinyl is
flawless HEP2012)
