Tracklisting & More Information

This was the one and only album by the band, founded by Kinks founder member Peter Quaife & Drummer Mick Cook, along with Canadians Stan Endersby & Marty Fisher. The UK Oak & Canadian Maple giving the band their name.
By the time of the recording of this LP & their sole single release, Mick Cook had left the band to be replaced by another Canadian, Gordon MacBain. Peter Quaife left the band and the music industry after their first single 'Son Of A Gun' failed to chart, leaving the band that recorded this LP as a Canadian power trio, which seems to be a familiar thing for Canadian bands !

The album itself includes one song by Stan Endersby, five by new recruit Gordon MacBain, one by Marty Fisher and a nod to fellow Canadian Bruce Cockburn with a cover of his 'Flying Circus'.

Condition:

The front laminated picture sleeve shows just light shelfwear, mostly to the unlaminated back. The front has a little laminate lift at the edges and a few minor laminate creases but nothing to write home about.
As far as sleeves go for this very hard to find LP, it remains in far better condition than usually found with a nice vintage feel and free from any writing or significant defects.

The vinyl remains in remarkable condition with just light surface hairlines visible upon close inspection and a few spindle marks visible around the centre hole to show for all those years in the wild.

This album has passed into legend as one of the 'missing' early seventies albums as it sold in very small quantities at the time and rarely turns up in anything more than passable condition these days.

A nice find and a worthy addition to any collection.
