TANGER TRIO & ENSEMBLE MODAINE Tanger Trio & Ensemble Mondaine (2013 UK limited edition 13-track LP released on the Series Aphonos label pressed on Heavyweight Vinyl - Tanger Trio is the brainchild of Hansjoern Brandenburg [musical director to Tom Waits’ The Black Rider] whose right hand man on drums & percussion is Thomas Wydler [Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds] along with Andreas Henze who completed the trio following the sudden passing of original bass-player Sirone Jones who performs on two tracks ['Satiesk' & 'Marching On']. Together, they are joined on this recording by Ensemble Mondaine comprising of celebrated musicians from Greece, Egypt, Germany and France. The European / Mediterranean flavour they add to the trio is the real thing. Complete with the album on a Bonus CD [in its own card wallet picture sleeve], the vinyl looks barely played housed in the picture sleeve which has just light shelfwear but retains its opened shrink)
