BASIL KIRCHIN Worlds Within Worlds (Archive Quality 1974 UK Island first press LP on the black with pink 'i' label, featuring Parts 3 & 4 of Basil's unique musique concrete work [Parts 1 & 2 were released on Columbia in '71], combining traditional instruments with wildlife sounds, the amplified noise of insects & an unconfirmed free-jazz lineup of Evan Parker, Derek Bailey & Frank Ricotti. Tape is painstakingly spliced, edited, looped & manipulated to create a whole new world of utterly alien yet beautiful soundscapes, clearly anticipating the subsequent ambient experiments of Brian Eno, who writes a glowing review on the back cover.
