BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST Victims Of Circumstance (1984 UK pair of 10½" reel ¼" Scotch/BASF Studio tapes for the album release, produced by Pip Williams & engineered by Gregg Jackman & David Jacob. These tapes are both 15 i.p.s. stereo, dated 10.3.84 & recorded using the NAB curve at a level of +4dB. This would have been created during the final mixing sessions at Advision, but their ultimate purpose is unknown, although I suspect they were produced for the CD rather than the LP. The first tape contains the first album side, so I'll leave you guessing as to whatmight be on the second one. There is a note on the second box that the tape is broken during 'Watching You', but if it still is or it has been spliced it is not possible to see without spooling several hundred feet of tape onto the floor, so that remains an unknown. As you can imagine, this sort of thing seldom surfaces for sale. People hunt for years for that elusive first press of an LP to attempt to get pressing plates as close as possible to the original master tape, but here is a copy of the mix tape made at the same time. This is likely to be the only copy in the world outside of the vaults of the band, so if you want it, get in quick!)
