THE QUINTET Jazz At Massey Hall (2004 US audiophile 6-track mono gold Hybrid SA-CD [Super Audio CD - playable on all SACD and CD players], originally recorded live at Massey Hall in Toronto, Canada in May 15, 1953, with the legendary Quintet comprised of Charlie Parker ("Charlie Chan"), Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Charlie Mingus & Max Roach. Often dubbed 'the greatest jazz concert ever', the survival of the music is owed to Mingus, who taped the concert & issued it on his Debut label. This is the greatest sounding CD issue out there of this crucial date, with extensive picture booklet DSA-124-6)
