THE JAZZ COURIERS The Couriers Of Jazz! (Rare 1960 UK first press 8-track deep groove mono LP, featuring the two frontline tenors of Ronnie Scott & Tubby Hayes recorded for Carlton in New York & backed by Terry Shannon [piano], Jeff Clyne [bass] & Bill Eyden [drums]. Includes three Tubbs originals; 'Mirage', 'After Tea' & 'The Monk', the latter a quirky tribute to Thelonious. The picture sleeve is front laminated with scalloped flipbacks & grades a nice VG+, with no splits & intact flipbacks. There is some faint laminate ageing or minor ring wear, understandable with age considering the cover was manufactured from flimsy stock like all London LPs. The heavyweight vinyl is a high quality British pressing & grades a healthy EX/EX- with a deep sheen both sides, a few minor spindle marks & the odd light paper scuff not affecting play. This is a nice surviving copy, carefully stored with card backing & a great piece of British Jazz history LTZ-L15188)
