J. TILLMAN Vacilando Territory Blues (2008 UK 13-track advance promotional CD - in early 2008, J. Tillman joined his long-time friends and musical collaborators - Fleet Foxes. Casey Wescott & Christian Wargo [Fleet Foxes] both appear on 'VTB', along with a number of regular contributors who were willing to adapt to several idiosyncratic recording obstructions. 'VTB' is far and away Tillman's most collaborative effort, and perhaps the most striking moments here are those seemingly stumbled upon, without resorting to second-takes or microphone re-adjustment. With minimal instrumental decoration and Tillman's striking, spiritual vocals floating atop these beguiling acoustic lullabies, 'Vacilando Territory Blues', is a slow burning beauty of a UK debut.
