Tracklisting & More Information

George began recording Somewhere In England in the autumn of 1979, and finally delivered the album to Warner Bros in September 1980. This version was rejected, with the label requesting that four of the ten tracks be removed: Tears Of The World, Sat Singing, Lay His Head and Flying Hour would be replaced by All Those Years Ago, Blood From A Clone, Teardrops and That Which I Have Lost.
The original black and white cover art by Basil Pao featuring George's profile 'morphed' with a map of the British Isles was also vetoed - a new full colour cover was later photographed in London's Tate Gallery.

What we have here is a mega rare unfolded uncut printer's proof for this design with white border and proofing bars, including the original tracklisting. The catalogue number (DHK3492) remains the same, however there is a barcode on the reverse which was dispensed with on the eventual 1981 vinyl issue.
Although the 2004 CD issue of the album reinstated the original artwork, the artist title/text was placed along the top edge in one line, where here it is lower down in the right corner on three lines, with a completely different font used for the title.

It is presently mounted on black board, but needs to be framed and prominently displayed!
