Tracklisting: British Progressive Rock Luminaries Jethro Tull have announced details for the group’s first studio album of new material in over 18 years! Originally making headlines in March of this year, the band’s newest offering, titled ‘The Zealot Gene’, will see a January 28th, 2022 release on Inside Out Music. To give Tull fans their first taste of the new record, the group has released the first single from the album, titled “Shoshana Sleeping”, accompanied by a stunning visual created by Thomas Hicks. A record that began to take shape as early as 2017, ‘The Zealot Gene’, in many ways, seeks to defy convention during a time when the business of being a touring and recording artist has never faced more uncertainties. Tull bandleader Ian Anderson holds no reservations about the role for which the mythos and themes of Biblical storytelling played in the lyrical content of the new album, saying: “While I have a spot of genuine fondness for the pomp and fairytale story-telling of the Holy Book, I still feel the need to question and draw sometimes unholy parallels from the text. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly rear their heads throughout, but are punctuated with elements of love, respect, and tenderness.” Looking back on the earth-shaking disruption of the Coronavirus pandemic, which ultimately ended the band’s touring plans and hopes of a 2020 release for ‘The Zealot Gene’, Anderson shares, “It was so sudden. Amidst the concerns and warnings of the scientific community and a few more enlightened politicians, we all retreated in disbelief to our homes to wait out the storm.” The Deluxe 3LP+2CD+Blu-ray Artbook comes on 180g white vinyl and includes a 3rd LP with the rough demos. It also includes a slipmat and a numbered art print. Vinyl LP 1 – Side A 01. Mrs Tibbets (05:54) 02. Jacob’s Tales (02:13) 03. Mine Is The Mountain (05:40) Vinyl LP 1 – Side B 01. BILL EVANS At The Montreux Jazz Festival (2023 Analogue Productions limited edition 9-track stereo LP pressed on 180-gram vinyl at 33RPM by QRP, mastered from the original tapes by Bernie Grundman. Recorded June 15, 1968 at the Casino de Montreux, Switzerland this album occupies a unique place in the Bill Evans discography. It's the only album to document drummer Jack deJohnette's too-short stay in the trio. The trio's performance on this album won them the 1969 Grammy for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Individual or Group. High quality tip-on style picture sleeve with original cover artwork, hype sticker & factory sealed inside its perforated loose bag. Recommended)

Tracklisting: By the time this set was recorded, live in Montreux on June 15, 1968, Eddie Gomez and Evans had been playing together for two years. Gomez provided a different brand of virtuosity to that offered by Scott LaFaro in Evans's classic trio of five years earlier but he was clearly the best bass player Evans had worked with since LaFaro's tragic death. The groove between the two was deep and comfortable, so comfortable that in this set, Evans did something he hadn't done before, at least on a recording: he showcased Gomez for an entire piece, the almost 7-minute-long "Embraceable You." As the liner notes by Gene Lees reveal, Evan's performance at the renowned jazz festival in the nightclub of the Montreux Casino, one of the most fashionable resorts in Switzerland, was one of his best. He and Gomez played with more exuberance, more happiness and more drive. Evans' brooding, introspective musical side has been represented well on records before; the bright side has been too-little heard, but it's here in this album. At the end of each number the audience exploded in applause so stormy and extended that it had to be heavily edited for the album. Enjoy this sparkling Bill Evans piano performance, made sweeter by the expert mastering by Bernie Grundman from the original analog tape. For this edition only the best vinyl pressing would do — a 180-gram super-silent luxurious-sounding platter from Quality Record Pressings, makers of the world's finest-sounding LPs. First-rate and top-notch, this album will make a superb addition to your record collection.
