first UK press 6-track deep groove mono LP on the Tempo
label, recorded in Tubbs' prime in December 1959 at Decca
Studios & widely considered his greatest studio album. Also
stars TerryShannon, Jeff Clyne & Phil Seamen & includes
'Embers' where Tubby plays the vibes, fully laminated

Condition :-
The laminate shows surprisingly little signs of age - just a tiny tear at opening edge. Both panels appear Excellent with light ringwear and corner creasing. All text remains clear and fully legible. On closer inspection there is the lightest of scuffing to the lower edge. There are no signs of this ever having been a 'smokers copy'. Overall graded EX.
The heavyweight vinyl has received a deep clean on a top of the range Matrix machine & a careful play test. Playback is outstanding. The clarity & depth of Decca's recording quality at this point was premiership status [just look at the prices achieved in the classical world for Decca 'SXL' series records]. On a mono setting, there is no distortion or intrusive surface noise. There are only a few of the lightest hairlines & just a little faint spindle wear by the centre hole label to indicate previous play. The vinyl is a very healthy, Excellent example & you are unlikely to find a better one.
