MICK SOFTLEY Any Mother Doesn't Grumble (Rare 1972 UK plain orange label 12-track LP by Mick, a figurehead during the British folk scene who kick-started the Spinning Wheel club, picture sleeve with company catalogue inner. The sleeve shows light wear with a few spots of discolouration, although nothing particularly severe and the vinyl is Excellent with very little sign of play - a great copy! A big influence on the more famous Donovan, Softley's stunning voice & guitar playing is captured here in all its glory, with impeccable versions of Billie Holiday's 'Strange Fruit' & Woody Guthrie's 'PlainsOf The Buffalo'. The front laminated flipback picture sleeve grades VG & shows some light creasing in the laminate & mild age discolouring on the back [couple of small pen annotations to the back corners], with a little corner scuffing to the paper. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & grades VG/VG- revealing spindle marks & hairlines & light play. On a mono playback setting, any surface noise is kept to a bare minimum.
