7-track LP recorded live at Blue Note on the 23rd & 24th May, front
laminated flipback picture sleeve with intact original index tag. This
extraordinary copy has obviously been extremely well cared for over
the past forty years with flawless mint vinyl. The sleeve too shows few
of the usual signs of aging, the only blemishes being some light
laminate creasing & a small area of scuffing at the opening but
otherwisethe sleeve is sharp, crisp & clean with still white white back & clearly readable spine - a staggering copy! CTX40323)

One of the finest European jazz pianists of all time, Martial Solal (a unique stylist) has never received as much recognition in the U.S. as he deserves. Born in Algiers to French parents, Solal has been based in Paris since the late '40s. Although a modernist, he was flexible enough to record an album with Sidney Bechet in 1957 and make other records with Django Reinhardt, Don Byas, and Lucky Thompson.
