MESSRS. MORTON & SHEPARD A Good Joke (An astonishing German 7" historical artifact recorded in 1900 or 1901 onto a hard rubber base, manufactured in Hannover by Emile Berliner [the first inventor to actually develop a usable disc record technology and founder of 'The Gramophone Company'] with recessed & possibly engraved lettering, recorded in London and spoken in English. This disc plays at about 55rpm and has survived one hundred & twenty years. We even play tested thedisc in the office with great care and what we heard can only be described as voices from the dead...! Hi-Fi it isn't, as it was designed for a bamboo needle and pressed into hard rubber, but to have survived so long and still be playable is nothing short of a miracle)

The excerpts from the history of the world include pieces from Marie Lloyd, Enrico Caruso, Gracie Fields, Dick Bentley, George Formby, The King Brothers, Mussolini, Hitler & Winston Churchill, with specially recorded extracts courtesy of the BBC. Needless to say, this had to be listened to & it actually manages to do a very good job of summing up the previous one hundred years in the space of some ten minutes.
