JOHN SURMAN Way Back When (Impossibly Rare 80s UK
Test Pressing 6-track LP, comprising all four parts of
the title track & 'Owlshead' & 'Out & About' for a recording
from October 7, 1969, cut at Tangerine Studios, London that
never sawrelease in its day. Also stars Mike Osborne, John
Taylor, Brian Odgers & John Marshall. We believe this disc was
pressed by Mole Jazz & in very small quantities. The labels
are plain white & the matrices are hand scratched & read
'RGG1109'/'RGG1110'. The vinyl is Excellent to Near Mint with
minimal sign of play. Unlikely to ever be found again!

private press 5-track LP, also starring Barre Phillips & Stu
Martin, recorded live on January 10th, 1970 in Altena, a town
in the district of Märkischer Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia,
Germany.The laminated picture sleeve [VG] shows a few
marks in the laminate as well as some peeling to the laminate
on the back but is otherwise in fine fettle & the vinyl appears
Excellent with little sign of play. This copy originates from the
private collection of a former staff member for Dobells record

Jazz 1970 UK first press 5-track stereo LP with matrices ending '1W',
the highly admired second album by English saxophonist John
Surman, also starring Harry Beckett, Alan Skidmore,Barre Phillips &
Tony Oxley & released on the collectable Deram label. The front
laminated picture sleeve has the stereo/mono indicator hole on the
back & comes complete with the original blue-for-stereo inner. The
sleeve is Excellent with just alittle light edge & ring wear. The vinyl
grades VG+ with a number of light paper hairline scuffs & spindle

1970 UK orange Dawn logo label hype stickered 17-track double vinyl
LP, from Surman's highly regarded and influential Trio group, including
the two expatriate American musicians Phillips and Martin. Now a
highly collectable album, gatefold picture sleeve with poster.
The almost all-white sleeve does show some slight discolouration but
is free of any significant wear and, apart from a few light
