This single was rushed out after the withdrawl of the Marc Bolan penned Midsummer Nights Scene, this is a re-write of an earlier B-side Remember Thomas A'Beckett . Also features the b-side 'Sara, Crazy Child' written by Marc Bolan, within a plain die-cut company sleeve with a wavy top and has a catalogue number sticker. JOHN'S CHILDREN Desdemona (1967 UK three-prong centre vinyl 7", the only single officially released during Marc Bolan's tenure with the band & famously banned by the BBC. Also features 'Remember Thomas À Becket', complete with the rare & limited matt flipback monochrome picture sleeve. The sleeve is annotated in blue biro with the catalogue number in the top right corner, front & back. The printed price point on the front has been scribbled out & there is a small 'F7' reference number annotated in the bottom right corner, front & back. The sleeve is otherwise a nice example, fully intact & still off white, with some minor paper loss to the top edge & very little ring wear. JOHN'S CHILDREN Midsummer Night's Scene (2014 UK issue of the legendary 7" vinyl single from 1967, also including Sara Crazy Child. This was withdrawn from release after Bolan left the band in May 1967. Neither he, nor the band themselves were happy with the final sound, originally pressed in a very small quantity but was never officially released, although the band are rumoured to have given some away at their John's Children Club gig. This reissue has replica Track Record silver & black labels and comes within a card picture sleeve with lyrics printed on the reverse. This is the only single officially released during Marc's tenure with the band and was famously banned by the BBC in the UK due to the inclusion of the risqué lyric 'lift up your skirt and fly'!
