DEEP PURPLE Gemini Suite Live (2010 issue UK 3-track digitally remastered CD album - Throughout Jon Lord's long and varied musical career, his love of orchestral music has never been far from the surface. As far as most people are concerned, Deep Purple's Royal Albert Hall show in September 1969 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra marked the start of Lord's experimentation with rock and orchestral music. The performance at the RAH was so successful that Jon was quickly commissioned to write a second orchestral / rock piece.
