Tracklisting & More Information

This legendary album recorded during Tubbs' second American tour almost needs no introduction & has since become a sought after gem in the Jazz world.

The personnel involved (organised by the great Quincy Jones especially for this session) give you a clue as to the quality of this album :

Tubby Hayes - Tenor Sax & Vibes
"Jimmy Gloomy" - Tenor Sax & Flute
Roland Kirk - Tenor Sax, Flute, Nose-Flute, Manzello & Stritch
Walter Bishop Jr. - Piano
Sam Jones - Bass
Louis Hayes - Drums

Sam Jones & Lewis Hayes were Julian 'Cannonball' Adderley's regular rhythm section, Roland Kirk has since become legendary in his own right & "Jimmy Gloomy" was none other than the great James Moody!

Condition :-

This is a lovely one previous owner example. The sleeve remains in Excellent conditon [tiny 'x' annotation by catalogue number on rear] with nice clean panels & tight laminate, with very little evidence of shelf wear other than a tiny half inch split in the bottom right edge corner. A nice copy, indeed.

The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & remains in Excellent condition. The vinyl has a deep sheen with just some very faint paper scuffs & mild spindle marks around the centre hole labels to reveal play. Playback is superb!

All in all a fantastic collector's copy of this legendary album that deserves a place in any self respecting Jazz collection.

Tracklisting :
1. Afternoon In Paris
2. I See With My Third "I"
3. Lady 'E'
4. Stitt's Tune
5. Medley : If I Had You / Alone Together / For Heaven's Sake
