IRON MAIDEN Running Free / SAMSON Mr. Rock & Roll (This is one for the pure collector of early NWOBHM in particular Iron Maiden & Samson, all fans know that the two bands were linked in many different ways and this set is a great example. What we have here is a fantastic pair of singles both from the early part of each bands' history, with both picture sleeves being fully AUTOGRAPHED. Iron Maiden - Running Free

Original 1980 UK EMI vinyl 7" single with early Eddie picture labels and includes the track 'Burning Ambition' on the flip side, housed in the original picture sleeve featuring a great image drawn by Derek Riggs. The sleeve on this copy has been signed by the recording line-up of Paul Di'Anno, Clive Burr, Dennis Stratton, Steve Harris and Dave Murray across the front in a black or blue ball point pen.

Samson - Mr. Rock & Roll

Original 1978 UK Lightning Records vinyl 7" single also includes the track 'Drivin' Music' on the flip side, housed in the original green & black 'android guitarist' picture sleeve by Graham Collins. The sleeve on this copy has been signed by Paul Samson, Chris Aylmer, Barry Graham as Thunderstick and Bruce Bruce across the front in a black or blue ball point pen. This line-up was different to that which recorded the track as the drums were originally performed by Clive Burr and vocals were by Paul Samson as Bruce was not in the band at the time.

Bruce [Dickinson] Bruce joined the band just after the 'Survivors' album was recorded, with some tracks later being rerecorded with Bruce on vocals. Bruce left the band in late 1981 after the 'Shock Tactics' album and joined Iron Maiden to record 'The Number Of The Beast' album after Paul Di'Anno was sacked.


This is an amazing set as the Iron Maiden single is signed by the original line-up that was together only for the first album [Dennis Stratton was replaced by Adrian Smith in October 1980], and also because now unfortunately Paul Samson and Chris Aylmer are now no longer with us.
