Condition Report :-

Vinyl - This record is not Mint - if you ever find a Mint copy you could probably name your price! The vinyl has obviously been played during its previous lifetime. There are visible surface marks on both sides and numerous plays are evident. We have played it through once and were quite impressed. It has audible crackles on the intros and some of the linking grooves, but generally plays as a VG+ or EX- record. There are 3 obvious 'pops' on Don't Look Away which represent the worst of its faults. Obviously this is not in 'audiophile quality' condition, but it does play extremely well for a 35+ year old LP and is without doubt the best copy we have ever seen - most examples are wrecked beyond play (and always without the obi) and would be suitable merely as gap-fillers in your collection. This copy, however, is up there with the best of them - if you ever get a chance to upgrade it we'd be impressed!

Label - The orangey/red Polydor label is in great shape, with no tears. The spindle area shows evidence of numerous plays, with a web of spider mark traces radiating outwards. The black and white label print is clear and crisp.

Sleeve - This unique picture cover is laminated front and back. The front shows some minor signs of light creasing along the right edge and bottom right corner. The delicate pinched spine is perfectly intact and neither top nor bottom seams have any splits. The top and bottom curved flipbacks are secure, with no tears or dents. The back cover has faded noticeably and shows some age-spotting along the outer edges. It would originally have been brilliant white all over, although the centre portion remains far brighter than the edges.

Lyric Insert - The double sided insert shows age spots and has faded from its original brilliant white towards a more yellowed off-white. The edges are all intact with no tears or splits at all. The lyrics are all printed in English, and the back shows the original release date of June 1967 (TO 6706).

Obi Strip - The fact that it's here at all is nothing short of incredible. Outside of Japanese reference books this is the first time we have ever seen one! It is securely wrapped around the picture cover and has no tears or splits at all. The whites are still impressively bright for their age, and the orange remains vibrant. The front has some light biro marks across the Japanese script.

Overall - We'd conservatively rate this as VG+ condition. It plays better than it looks and the fact that it is extremely rare to find a copy in this complete state, with lyric insert and obi-strip intact, makes it overall an Excellent copy. Like we said, if you ever find a better copy, well done!
