VIVIAN STANSHALL Men Opening Umbrellas Ahead (Rare 1974 UK 10-track LP, the solo debut by the legendary 'ginger geezer', which sold so poorly it was swiftly deleted soon after release, remaining unavailable in any commercial form for over thirty five years, complete with lyric inner, embossed picture sleeve. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear and the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play. A gem that surfaces so rarely on vinyl! K56052)

This is perhaps Stanshall's answer to Beefheart, a madcap but inspired affair with moments of genius & flourishes of Afrobeat, with guests Gaspar Lawal, Reebop Kwaku Baah, an unidentified West Indian taxi driver[!] and soul singers Barry St. John, Doris Troy & Madeline Bell. In an ideal world it would have charted!
