DEXTER GORDON QUARTET Daddy Plays The Horn (2013 UK 6-track 'microgroove' LP, reissue of the original 1956 album, recorded for the small NYC indie label Bethlehem and issued in the UK as part of London's Jazz Series. The Quartet features KennyDrew on piano, Leroy Vinnegar bass and drummer Larry Marable, and on their musical travels arrive at a resplendent reading of Bird's Confirmation plus the gorgeous ballad Autumn In New York. Although not sealed, the sleeve and vinyl remain ina stunning Near Mint condition! A winner! BCP-36)
