ELTON JOHN Tumbleweed Connection (Very rare 1970 UK test pressing of the 10-track vinyl LP with stamped A1/B2 matrices indicating that this is a first pressing, plain unannotated white label which has been signed by Elton's long-standing songwriting partner Bernie Taupin on Side A, plain sleeve with printed tracklisting info sheet. This one-of-a-kind copy of Elton's third longplayer was a gift from Bernie Taupin to the employees of legendary Kings Road clothing boutique 'Mr Freedom'. Tommy Roberts, the owner was responsible for many of Elton's outrageous costumes during his '70s heyday and was a key component in Elton's early success. The label is signed in biro Luv from all to MR Freedom - Bernie Taupin and is a one previous owner copy. The vinyl easily grades Excellent with only very light signs of play. Not only is this a wonderful addition to any Elton John collection, the 430 Kings Road address of MR Freedom would later become Malcolm McClaren and Vivenne Westwood's legendary 'Let It Rock, Sex and Seditonaries' stores in the '70s, making this a wonderful cultural artefact in its own right - highly recommended and almost certainly unique DJLPS410)
