SYD BARRETT The Madcap Laughs (Rare 1970 UK first press 13-track LP, on the Harvest label with 'The Gramophone Co' perimeter text & without the EMI logo [matrices both ending with 'G']. Syd's debut solo album finally appeared two years after leaving Pink Floyd, with Dave Gilmour & Roger Waters producing. This is a brilliant but brittle album, with every strum of the electric guitar seeming to take its toll on Barrett's increasingly frayed nerve strings. Comes housed in the originalfront laminated gatefold picture sleeve printed by Ernest J Day with the Harvest catalogue inner. The sleeve [VG+] shows some minor dulling to the laminate with the odd faint crease & little shelf wear. Note: there is a small name & 'Jan 70' date annotation to the inside top right panel. The vinyl is clean & grades EX/EX- with a few faint spindle marks & the odd light hairline not affecting play SHVL765)
