VARIOUS The Sue Story Volumes One, Two & Three (Wonderful set of THREE original mono LP compilations from 1965-66 [48 tracks in total], compiled by Guy Stevens for Chris Blackwell's celebrated label. Sue Records broke the mould, & indeed an agreement with its US branch, by licensing not just West Indian artists for release in the UK but also in demand R&B acts from across the pond on other labels. Hear the sounds of Irma Thomas, Bob & Earl, James Brown, Dee Clark, Professor Longhair,Robert Parker, Larry Williams & many more hitting British shores for the first time! Each part is housed in its respective flipback picture sleeve with the original in depth album notes on the back. The sleeves grade VG+ overall, with the first two volumes being front laminated & largely in Excellent condition with some inevitable age wear [some foxing & ring wear scuffing with Vol. 3, which has a matte finish]. The heavyweight vinyl discs grade VG+ overall with Excellent sound quality & just a few light paper hairline scuffs & minor signs of play. An ideal purchase as one ILP925/933/938)
