THE NEW PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA conducted by SIR ADRIAN BOULT The Planets (Late 70s UK third issue of the 1967 stereo vinyl LP on the black & white stamp label, front laminated flipback picture sleeve. Sir Adrian Boult also conducted the firstpublic performance of The Planets on the 29th of September 1918. Legend has it that during rehersals, the cleaners at the Queen's Hall downed their mops and danced to some of the passages from Jupiter. Sir Adrian contributes his thoughts on thework in the liner notes, but neither confirms nor denies this apocryphal story. The sleeve shows light shelfwear & the vinyl remains near 'as new' with little sign of play ASD2301)
