NORTHERN PACIFIC Northern Pacific No. 2626 Memorial Album (Early 60s US 10" vinyl LP featuring the sounds of the 4-8-4 Northern Pacific No. 2626, recorded by Elwin D. Purington and released on the private press mail order only Railroad Record Club label run by Wisconsin farmer William Steventon & pressed by RCA Custom Record Department. This label ran from the late fifties into the mid-sixties and during that time they released thirty six 10" LPs and six 10" 'Specials' focussing on aparticular locomotive. This astonishing body of work managed to capture classic steam trains recorded across the US, many of which would otherwise have passed into history without a trace. The sleeve has extensive sleeve notes on the reverse & shows just a little shelfwear & the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play SP-2)
