Not only is this packed with rare photographs of a youngEllington & his band, along with full concert notes, advertisements, words by Spike Hughes & a chronological list of Duke compositions, but the cover also bears the elegant, unfaded signatures of Duke himself [in black pen] & Orchestramembers on the night, Fred Guy, Barney Bigard & Cootie Williams [in pencil]. The cover is oversized, & naturally weathered with age with some fraying & edge splits [a coupon is cut-out on one page] yet remains fully intact with no pages loose from the staples - a beautiful, historic item that simply begs to be framed)
