DON CHERRY Complete Communion (1966 first US issue 8-track mono vinyl LP, with 'New York USA' address labels & 'Van Gelder' stamper in the run-outs. This was the first solo album Don Cherry recorded for Blue Note, following his departurefrom the Ornette Coleman Quartet. It was also one of the earliest showcases for the Argentinian tenor saxophonist Gato Barbieri, who goes by his full name, Leandro 'Gato' Barbieri. Henry Grimes (bass) & Edward Blackwell (drums) round off thisimpressivedebut. Remarkably, the sleeve is still in its original open shrink, with 'West 61st' address on back & catalogue inner. The condition is wonderful - the vinyl reveals just a few light cosmetic marks with age not affecting play. Recommended BLP4226)
