DUKE ELLINGTON The Treasury Shows (Amazing 60s collection of no fewer than FORTY EIGHT transcription LPs, recorded by the band in 1945 in order to promote the sale of U.S. Treasury Bonds. The broadcasts were made available on vinyl by theretired recording engineer and wonderfully obsessive Ellington collector Jerry Valburn, through the Duke Ellington Music Society and have since been issued in highlight form only on CD by Storyville. These are those original LPs, in their fairly plain packaging, with all vinyl in excellent or above condition. Some of the disks actually look unplayed. Not only is this the full collection of the 'Saturday Night With The Duke' live transcriptions, but it also comes with a bonus LP, making FORTY NINE LPs in all. A staggering set for the Ellington fan and a perfect record of a classic band at the top of their game, recorded with the energy of a live performance. A word of caution that this collection is heavy, so you may wish to check with us for postage rates when ordering)
