THE CHARLIE MINGUS JAZZ WORKSHOP Pithecanthropus Erectus (1968 UK repackaging of the 1956 4-track mono LP on the plum & red Atlantic label, also starring Jackie McLean (alto), J. R. Monterose (tenor), Mal Waldron (piano) & Willie Jones (drums). This was Mingus' first masterpiece, including the boundary-pushing title piece, Profile Of Jackie & a wonderfully modern arrangement of Gershwin's, A Foggy Day. The front laminated picture sleeve shows minimal shelfwear & the vinyl is Near Mint)
