KATE BUSH Handwritten Letter (Way back when, a certain songbird was winging her way to Australia to promote her second album, which she had literally just finished. During her promotional visit, she was to appear as a presenter on the tenth annual 'TV Week King Of Pop' awards show on the 14th October that year. What we have here is a hand written letter to Tony Myatt of Capital Radio, who was the first DJ to ever play Kate's music over the air and had become a personal friend. The letter is postmarked 12th October at 5PM, so it must have been mailed on the first day of her trip & written after her first visits to some Australian radio stations that morning, as it refers to them in the letter. She obviously started the letter the day before as she's dated it 11-10-78 and it's on a Quantas photo letter with fold out scenes from Oz. Folding out to a good A4 size, this is a lovely souvenir of the early days in Kate Bush's career, after the mammoth worldwide successes of the singles of 'Wuthering Heights' & 'The Man With The Child In His Eyes', along with the album 'The Kick Inside', but before 'Lionheart' and the one & only 'Tour Of Life' in 1979. A remarkable item and an insight into the genuinely nice person Kate obviously is, all as observed in this letter from Australia to a friend)
