CHRIS BARBER'S JAZZ BAND & THE LONNIE DONEGAN SKIFFLE GROUP New Orleans Joys (1956 UK second issue of the 1954 8-track 10" vinyl LP that kick started the Skiffle boom in the UK, led to John Lennon picking up a guitar & consequently shaped almosteverything that we now listen to. The Jazz band consists of Chris Barber on Trombone, Pat Halcox on Trumpet, Monty Sunshine on Clarinet, Lonnie Donegan on Banjo, Ron Bowden on Drums & Jim Bray on Bass, with the Skiffle group consisting of Chris Barber on Bass, Lonnie Donegan on Guitar & Vocals & Beryl Bryden on Washboard. The fully laminated scalloped flipback picture sleeve is in nice condition with minimal wear & just a little age yellowing to show for its fifty five years. The vinyl too remains excellent with just a couple of light surface scuffs to show for its vintage. A great copy of a classic album! LF1198)
