JOE HARRIOTT QUINTET Movement (Very hard to find 1963 UK 9-track LP, only issued in the UK in the Lansdowne Series and only in mono! We are pleased to have finally tracked down a copy of this British modern jazz milestone. Joe was a true pioneer,although always in the shadow compared to his US peer, Ornette Coleman, Joe's take on freeform jazz sounds highly organised and accessible, due to his stunning musicianship and the band's, including the almighty Shake Keane on trumpet & flugelhorn, Pat Smythe piano, Coleridge Goode bass & Bobby Orr drums. Rather typical of jazz records from the sixties, the front laminated flipback sleeve shows some discolouration on the back, but has survived its smokey environment well. There is some edge scuffing and a creased corner, yet all print including the spine is still clearly legible. The condition is a respectable VG

The labels are clean with barely a mark on them. The vinyl too is incredibly clean and play grades extremely well indeed. There were no heavy clicks or surface noise and the sound was glorious! The condition is a beautiful EX++

This is essential British jazz; Joe still sounds uncompromising & unique to this day!
