JOHNNY HODGES Blue Hodge (Original 1961 UK gold printed maroon Verve Series 10-track mono vinyl LP, one of the first Verve albums to move Johnny Hodges away from Ellington and more into the soul jazz mode that served him so well as a leader inthe sixties, featuring versions of And Then Some, Hodge-Podge & the title track. Recorded with Wild Bill Davis [organ], Sam Jones [bass], Louis Hayes [drums], and the great Les Spann on guitar and flute, the front laminated flipback picture sleeve shows minimal wear and the vinyl is immaculate CLP1579)
