Tracklisting & More Information

This incredible rarity has come from a vast and impressive jazz LP collection, and it's a genuine one-previous-owner example. The condition across the collection from which this record came was eye-watering to say the least; mostly all were mint!

Deep groove first press mono's from this period are highly sought after. Long before Blue Note was sold to Liberty in the sixties, this was the American jazz label to record for. Through the vision of Alfred Lion and expert producer Rudy Van Gelder, Blue Note defined the 'hard bop' style and 'cool jazz' sound of the 50s & 60s.

This particular 'Hank Mobley & His All Stars' effort represents a who's who of the label, with Milt Jackson on vibes, Horace Silver on piano, Doug Watkins on bass and Art Blakey drums.

Condition :-

The pasted laminate sleeve is a lovely heavyweight pressing. Being 54 years of age, it looks staggering! The print is bright, vivid and unblemished. Usually we find the matt back panel to be discoloured but this is still a near perfect off-white. There is just a little edge scuffing but nothing severe; very nice, indeed.

The heavyweight vinyl is as close to MINT as you're likely to find with this extreme rarity! There are NO cosmetic scuffs or excessive play visible, and when held to the light, there is just the faintest spindle mark on Side 1 to indicate any play at all.

What we have here is a jaw-dropping near mint example for one very lucky owner… we doubt we'll ever see one again!
