RICHARD STRAUSS Excerpts from Strauss Operas (1978 UK World Records Retrospect series label mono LP. Performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Herbert von Karajan with such vocal talent as Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Josef Witt andLudwig Weber. Originally recorded between 1947 and 1949, this record captures some of the finest voices of their generation performing excerpts from Salome, Ariadne auf Naxos and Der Rosenkavalier, front laminated picture sleeve with extensive liner notes. The sleeve has an annotation to the reverse and the vinyl appears barely played SH286)
