SHOSTAKOVICH Cello Concerto No.1 (1973 UK HMV black and white stamp label stereo vinyl LP. Performed by Paul Tortelier with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra conducte by Paavo Berglund. At first glance this disc appears somewhat unassuming, but this TAS listed recording is widely held to be best recording yet made of the Shostakovich's 1st cello concerto and is a must have performance for serious audiophile classical fans. Better yet, this first issue copy is in mint condition throughout and the disc in particular looks as if it's hardly been played. ASD2924)
