SIBELIUS The Tempest (1973 UK HMV stamp label stereo vinyl
LP. Performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra
conducted by Sir Charles Groves. Concieved as incidental music,
this is one of the most ambitious scores for the theatre ever
written - the original autograph spanning over two hundred
pages and thirty four sections. The full score remains
unpublished, however, and normally only the prelude and two
suites that are performed. Both the disc and the front laminated
picture sleeve are in stunning mint condition, a beautiful copy of
a highly collectable recording ASD2961)
