True Colours - Laser Etched Acetate

SPLIT ENZ True Colours (This is an odd one, a 1987 UK 6-track single sided 14" Laser Etched methyl cellulose lacquer metal based acetate for the LP release. It would appear that this oversized acetate was produced to test the laser etching, as there are two 'aiming' dots off of the 12" playing surface. This is not something that we've ever seen before & it has come as a bit of a surprise. It may well be that there is part of the manufacturing process for laser etched discs that require this, but it's not one that we are aware of. If you were to mount this on a black background by a source of light, it would make a very impressive display as the prismatic effect of the laser etching reflects 'True Colours' around your room!)
