SCOTT JOPLIN Ragtime Volume 2 (1971 US 14-track LP assembled from the playback of rare original surviving 65 & 88 note QRS rolls, played back on a 1910 Steinway player-piano. All the rolls date from between 1900 & 1910 & represent a true pictureof turn of the century ragtime piano as transcriber from the sheet music of the time. The player-piano was the Edwardian equivalent of the jukebox, and these rolls were sold along side the sheet music in music shops, before the coming of shellac discs slowly took over & made them obsolete. This copy is in wonderful condition, with extensive notes on the back of the sleeve & still in the original opened shrink! BLP-1008Q)
