BUFFY SAINTE-MARIE Soldier Blue - The Best Of The Vanguard Years (2010 UK 15-track CD album - Buffy Sainte-Marie was first noticed on the folk circuit in the mid 60s. Since then she has been involved in country, rock, soundtracks [winning an Oscar for writing 'Up Where We Belong'], and presented 'Sesame Street' for five years. For most music fans she is remembered for the albums she recorded for Vanguard in the 1960s, which spotlighted the plight of her fellow Native Americans. This Vanguard-compiled 'best of' collection [compiled especially for the European market] includes her UK hit 'Soldier Blue')
