Remastered to audiophile standards, this collection truly shows Bechet at his very best, featuring tracks recorded between 1938 and 1947, the period when his soprano saxophone and clarinet playing was in full bloom. Even better, some of the finest recordings here have not been easily available for a long time. Performed with his orchestra, the Bechet-Spanier Big Four, Art Hodes' Blue Note Jazzmen and more.
