JOE NEWMAN with FRANK FOSTER Good 'n' Groovy (1961 UK 6-track mono LP on a rough black & silver label, pressed in Holland for the UK market. The Quintet includes Tommy Flanagan on piano, Eddie Jones, bass & Billy English, drums, recorded for Prestige/Swingville that year by Rudy Van Gelder, this session has all the hallmarks of a classic, with these talented players playing sparkling versions of standards like Just Squeeze Me & Li'l Darlin' along with four originals. The front laminated flipback sleeve shows a little corner creasing and foxing to the unlaminated back whilst the vinyl is beautiful & still looks barely played)
