YUSEF LATEEF Eastern Sounds (Fantastic 1966 UK issue of the 1961 9-track mono LP, on the purple & white 'globe' label [both sides]. An outstanding album that should be in every adventurous jazz music lover's collection. Eastern Sounds brings awonderful oriental feel into the world of cool jazz, opening with The Plum Blossom, written for & played on a Chinese globular flute, a twelve hundered year old instrument made of clay! front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve shows light discolouration to the reverse and a little laminate lift to the front, whilst the vinyl has minimal sign of play. Recommended PR7319)
