Tracklisting & More Information

The Ivys (who eventually became Badfinger) auditioned for the newly formed Apple Records label in 1968. First Mal Evans, the Beatles' longtime roadie and a friend of the Iveys' manager took up their cause, followed by Peter Asher, the head of A&R for the label. Finally, they attracted the attention of Paul McCartney.
A debut single was selected in late 1968 in the guise of a Tom Evans original, "Maybe Tomorrow." It was produced by Tony Visconti. The record only became a hit in Germany and Holland despite getting a worldwide release. It wasn't issued in a picture in either US or the UK.
The picture sleeve is glossy with black and white image of the band on the front. The background to the picture is grey with the band name in bold red text and an Apple logo in the top right hand corner.

If you look closely at the picture you can see small patches of white - this is not damage to the sleeve but was a printing flaw that is on ALL copies of this single. As so few of these singles were pressed for the initial run, it was decided that it would be too costly to reprint such a small amount of sleeves and so they were sent out with the flaw.
The rear of the sleeve is white with all text in black. The flipbacks are secure with no damage or repairs.
The sleeve is free from seam splits, tears, rips, ringwear and writing - unknown with sleeves from Portugal.

The vinyl has only ONE very light surface mark on side 1 which prevents a true mint grading however the vinyl retains its original shine and appears to be unplayed. This is simply staggering as Portuguese records are usually in terrible shape, badly scratched with ripped sleeves.

This is the hardest Portuguese Apple single to find in any condition. The lucky owner can rest assured that they won't find a better copy!
